Mindfulness & Meditation for Kids
We live in stressful times, and while adults may feel it acutely, children are not immune to the stressors of school, family, friendships and internal pressures. Whether toddler or tween, kids can benefit from mindfulness practices, meditation and yoga. This book teaches the art of meditation from the very basic first steps through moments of focus and beyond. The audiobook version is especially good for at-home meditation practice.

If you enjoyed the previous book, you may also like this family book by the same author that incorporates mindfulness, meditation and yoga for all ages. This book is geared for tweens and teens, but could be accessible for the whole family with supervision. It’s chock full of colorful artwork and illustrations and will provide endless opportunity for incorporating a mindfulness practice into your daily life.
I am Yoga by Susan Verde
This adorable, illustrated picture book introduces young readers to the ideas behind yoga and introduces them to some of the basic poses that they can do at home. Verde’s writing is poetic, the illustrations are engaging, and children from preschool to elementary will get something out of the book.
Yoga for Kids by Susannah Hoffman
If you really want to bring the practice of yoga into the home, try this book of activities and exercises that will introduce kids to downward dog, corpse pose, tree pose and more. This book isn’t just about physical poses though, and includes lots of other mindfulness activities for all ages.
