DC Public Library Expands Curbside Pick-Up Locations to Each Ward
Extended Hours Offered at Eight Locations
Starting today, the Anacostia, Benning, Cleveland Park, Mt. Pleasant, Northeast, Shepherd Park, West End, and Woodridge libraries will offer curbside pick-up and return services on weekdays. Additionally, remote printing, which allows customers to send documents electronically for printing, will be available.
Each location will be open from 11:00 AM to 2:30 PM and from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM. The locations will be closed from 2:30-3:00 every day for sanitizing
Because the District’s Public Health Emergency remains in effect, Library service is being restored in phases. This approach allows the Library to ensure the safety of customers and staff and to begin replenishing its physical collection.
Customers can request materials for pick-up by calling the Library at (202) 747-1017 for adult materials; request youth materials for pick-up by calling (202) 747-5054; and visit dclibrary.org to use DCPL’s catalog or chat service. Library staff will work with the customer to schedule a pick-up location.
When customers arrive at the library, they will provide staff with their name and library card number. Library staff will place the reserved items on an identified table. Customers must wear a face mask or covering and practice social distancing while waiting. Markers will be placed outside denoting six-foot increments.
All Library buildings will remain closed to the public during Phase One. Due dates for items currently checked out have been extended to August.
Additional information on Mayor Bowser’s reopening plan for the District can be found at coronavirus.dc.gov/PhaseOne.
