Join us for a conversation with Brandi Summers, professor of geography and author of Black in Place: The Spacial Aesthetics of Race in a Post-Chocolate City. In conversation with Samir Meghelli, Summers will discuss her book and her scholarship focusing on urban cultural landscapes and the political and economic dynamics by which race and space are reimagined and reordered including her writing about the H Street Corridor here in Washington, DC.

This event is part of the A Right to the City speaker series with American University's Metropolitan Policy Center and the Smithsonian Institution Anacostia Community Museum.
