Art AfterWords, DC Reads Edition - Good Talk

Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2020, 5:30 p.m.

As part of our DC Reads community read of Good Talk: A Memoir in Conversations by Mira Jacob, the National Portrait Gallery and the Library invite you to a virtual conversation about identity, families, and storytelling. Join us as we analyze David Levine’s portrait of Pulitzer Prize winner Jhumpa Lahiri from the new exhibit Her Story: A Century of Women Writers, and discuss Mira Jacob's graphic memoir.  Participants are encouraged to explore the virtual exhibition before the event.

Please register here. The link for the discussion will be emailed to registered participants 24- 48 hours in advance of the program. Please only register for yourself. We will only be allowing participants into the meeting if their name (and email address) is on the registration list. The Portrait Gallery strives to provide programs that are accessible to all visitors. For questions, or to request accommodations such as an ASL interpreter or captioning, please email us here
