Bevy Smith and her "Bevelations" | LIT.erary Lounge with Mocha

Friday, March 5, 2021, 7 p.m.

The iconic radio host, television personality and fashion guru Bevy Smith joins Mocha Ochoa and the MLK Virtual Audience to dish about her new memoir Bevelations. In Bevelations she shares how she reclaimed her life’s course and shows how we too can manifest our most bodacious dreams. From repossessing her bold childhood nature to becoming her own brand to envisioning her life’s next great destination (which will feature natural hair, important charitable giving, and a midcentury house overlooking the Pacific Ocean), Bevy invites readers along on the route of her personal transformation to reveal how each of us can live our best lives with honesty, joy, and, when we’re in the mood, a killer pair of shoes.

The LIT.erary Lounge by Mocha series is a partnership between Mocha Media and DC Public Library that lifts up and celebrates Black voices and Black stories all year long. Hosted by literary activist and publicist Mocha Ochoa, these illuminating and creative conversations celebrate and spotlight Black authors, thought leaders and world-changers who boldly blaze trails of innovation. To get notifications about upcoming LIT.erary Lounge events and other DC Public Library programs, subscribe to DC Public Library on Youtube.
