NorthStar Digital Literacy Assessments and Certificate - Remote Proctored Session

If you need to demonstrate your proficiency in basic digital literacy skills, the Adult Learning Department of the DC Public library is pleased to offer this two-hour session of the NorthStar Digital Literacy Remote Proctoring Service. This remote service allows you to take the following NorthStar Assessments from the convenience of your home or office computer.  With a score of 85% or better, you can earn your NorthStar Digital Literacy Certificate. Registration required (see below).

Earn your NorthStar Digital Literacy Assessment (NDLA) Certificate in one or more of the following areas of basic digital literacy: 
  • Basic Computer Skills
  • Internet Basics
  • Using Email
  • Windows
  • Mac OS
  • MS Word
  • MS Excel
  • MS PowerPoint
  • Google Docs
  • Social Media
  • Information Literacy
  • Supporting K-12 Distance Learning
  • Career Search Skills
  • Your Digital Footprint

Please register at least three days (not including Saturday and Sunday) before the test date to receive further instructions by email.

Registration will close at 12 Noon on the day before this scheduled event.

You will receive a confirmation email acknowledging your registration and giving you further instructions on how to engage the NorthStar proctored session from your computer at home or in your office. 

Your NorthStar Certificate will be emailed to you as an attachment in PDF format to the email address you provided during your registration.  The Certificate will list all Assessments passed on that day on one Certificate (your score will not appear on the Certificate, only the name of the Assessment(s) will be listed). You should receive the email with your attached Certificate within 24-48 hours after your proctored session.
