Exhibit Dates: October 4– January 6, 2026
Exhibit Location: MLK Library, Floor 5
In partnership with The Museum of the Peace Corps Experience
About the Exhibition
Peace by Design reveals how peace takes shape through awareness-raising, everyday acts of service, and in the words of inspiration. Visitors are transported into the early years of the Peace Corps, where idealism met design, citizen-to-citizen diplomacy, and the enduring power of art. Highlights include iconic recruitment posters from the 1960s–70s (Norman Rockwell’s anniversary series, a 1971 Peter Max graphic, and more), paired with poems in English and Persian and first-person narratives from the Peace Corps Iran program (1962–1976).
Opening Reception
Join us on Saturday, October 4, 2025, 5:00–7:00 pm to celebrate the opening with curators, partners, and the Peace Corps community. Registration is required.
Programs
In-person and online programs will run throughout the exhibition—artist/author talks, a volunteer story slam, and educator resources—inviting audiences to reflect on how art, service, and human connection shape the meaning of peace. Visit the Museum website to learn more.
