Held at People's Church Due to Lack of Space in the Interim Library
Unfortunately, the Petworth Interim Library does not have the space to host the free tax preparation assistance to the community as it has done in years past. There is simply no room to discuss private financial information in the interim facility. Instead, tax assistance will be offered at the People's Church at 4704 13th St. N.W. on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The Petworth Interim Library opened on Monday, January 11, 2010. The modular unit located on the parking lot of the original 1939 building, now undergoing renovation, has the same 4200 Kansas Ave. N.W. address. The new phone number is 202-243-1188. Hours remain as they were in the previous building:Monday & Wednesday 1 - 9 p.m.Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, & Saturday 9:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.

The interim library opens Monday, January 11.The permanent building will undergo a major renovation in the next year or so; however, full library services will be provided at the interim. The interim is located on the parking lot of Petworth Library and has the same address (4200 Kansas Ave. N.W., 20011) and phone number (202-541-6300) as the permanent building.
