"Fiction doesn’t tell us something we don’t know, it tells us something we know but don’t know that we know." - Walker Percy

What I do when I'm not at the library: Cooking, backpacking and camping, travel (domestically and internationally) and catching live music in Baltimore and D.C.

My Passion: Food. Reading cookbooks. Trying out new recipes and restaurants. Cooking and sharing food with others.

Something unique about me: I have traveled to Africa twice, visiting Madagascar and Ethiopia. Lemurs and Gelada Baboons. Now I need to get to West Africa, specifically Senegal.

If I wrote an autobiography, its title would be: A New Hampshire Yankee in King Arthur's Court

The last thing that I read: On the Plain of Snake: A Mexican Journey by Paul Theroux

What I'm reading now: Great American outpost: dreamers, mavericks, and the making of an oil frontier by Maya Rao
