Takoma Park Library
One of four Carnegie-funded library buildings in the city, the one-story Renaissance Revival-style brick building is the oldest D.C. public neighborhood library. In March 2009, the library reopened after a $1.95 million renovation. The makeover restored woodwork, improved the lighting, developed a new floor plan, replicated original furniture, and refurbished the exterior masonry and metalwork.
In January 2020, Takoma Park Library reopened after an interior refresh. The updates included renovation of lower level, flooring replacement, new heating and cooling systems and electrical upgrades.
