Babe Ruth hero of baseball

'Baseball' a film by Ken Burns: the 1920s

Baseball is everywhere this summer. But the history of the sport has its ups and downs. In this film in the Ken Burns series, we are considering what happened to baseball in the 1920s. It was in the '20s that baseball fully emerged into American life with its rituals, heroes, and scores. The 1920s was the time of Babe Ruth, who was seen as a great hero and given extensive publicity among other stars of that time who were thought to have embodied the best of the American persona.
