Make a Mural: Celebrate Tenleytown

On Oct. 14, Mayor Browser will dedicate a mural honoring the history of our Tenleytown neighborhood. As part of the festivities, kids are invited to add their artistic flair to a temporary mural in the Children’s Room. The new mural is just across the way at 4425 Wisconsin Avenue, NW. Glamour Story Time

Join us for a dress up party with local celebrity emcee, Goddess, and entertainer Rayceen of The Ask Rayceen Show.  Wear your snazziest outfit and enjoy picture books celebrating gender diversity.  Attendees will have the opportunity to get their makeup done, create crafts, and show off their style while meeting new friends This event is for ages 3-8 and we request that you register.  Please call the Children's Room at 202-727-0971 to sign up.

Halloween Party

Join for a non-spooky Halloween party! We’ll celebrate in style with games, treats, trick-or-treating around the library and more! Costumes encouraged but not required. Prizes will be awarded for most creative costume judged by library staff.   For ages 6-12. The party will end at 5 p.m. and children under 9 must have an adult present in the building. This event will take place during regularly scheduled Kid's Club.

Halloween Creative Contest

Southeast Library is holding its third annual creative Halloween contest! We want you to enter your best Halloween drawing, painting, short story, or poem. Entries must be turned to by October 26 at the Information Desk. Entries will be judged by the public from October 27 - 31. Winners will be contacted after voting and displayed in November.For ages 5-19. Drawings and paintings will be judged in a separately from short stories and poems.  The age groups judged will be: 5-8 10-12 13-19
