Minecraft Madness

A celebration of all things Minecraft

Minecraft Madness took over the Northeast Library on Sunday, March 22. Kids celebrated their love for the game by logging on and playing with their library friends. We also decorated 8-bit faces, ate Minecraft-themed snacks, read Minecraft books, and played three rounds of Minecraft bingo. Bingo winners got to take home their very own Minecraft book.   This party was a big hit, so look for more Minecraft-related programming in the future.

LEGOs at the Library

It's a month-long extravaganza!

It's a LEGO extravaganza at the library! Why, you ask? Because we say so! LEGO activities are a wonderful way to encourage children to particpate in science-related activities by building, designing and testing solutions. Thus, while our love for LEGOS may simply have to do with the fun that can be had from this engaging activity, it appears that LEGOS offer more than just stimulating entertainment.  During the month of April, come to the children's room at Petworth library to engage in a variety of programs. These include:

Poetry Month Kids' Scavenger Hunt

Discover great literature and win a prize!

April is National Poetry Month and we are celebrating all month long in the children's room with a poetry-themed scavenger hunt! Starting April 1, participants will use their inner sleuth to search through the library to find hidden clues. Each clue will have a title of a book as well as a call number. Find each book on the shelf and match it to its description on the questionnaire to win a prize.
