Create Your Own Comic

Especially for young fans of comic books and comic strips!

Join us on Saturday, Sept. 26 at 11:30 a.m. for a fun program in honor of National Comic Book Day (Sept. 25). We will be reading Easy Reader "comic books," picture books written in the style of comic books and creating our own comic strips! This is a fun storytelling, reading, writing and drawing program for children ages 6 - 9.

New: Story Times Will Now Require Tickets for Attendance

Preregistration for Baby Lap Time and Wonderful Ones & Twos no longer needed

We will no longer require preregistration for story times.  Starting July 29, children and their caregivers attending Baby Lap Time and Wonderful Ones & Twos will need tickets to participate.  A limited number of tickets will be made available 30 minutes before story time in our Children's Room. They will be given out on a first-come, first-served basis. Other story times that require tickets are Tuesday's Story Break and Friday's Preschool Story Time.

Fresh air fun and learning for all ages!

Who says libraries and learning have to be confined within four walls? Join us during the month of June as we host a number of programs outdoors (weather permitting) to appreciate fresh air, blue skies, warm weather and fun in the sun!

Tea Time Under the Trees!

Pre-K Friends celebrate Great Outdoors Month with stories, music and art

June is Great Outdoors Month! Celebrate with us during "Tea Time Under the Trees"! On Monday, June 8 at 11 a.m., Pre-Kindergarteners ages 3 - 5 will listen to stories like Friends Help Each Other (featuring Daniel Tiger!), dance and make art on the front lawn during a late morning of summer breezes and shady trees.

Bienvenue/Welcome!!

Welcome one and all! The Alliance Francaise de Washington D.C. and the District of Columbia Public Library are partnering to present a special bilingual Story Time at Francis A. Gregory Neighborhood Library! The Story Time will combine songs and stories for children in English and French. Whether you speak English, or si vous parlez francais, we hope you join us on Thursday, May 28 at 1:30 p.m. Caregivers and parents are welcome to attend. Refreshments provided!

Celebrate Jazz Appreciation Month at Petworth Library

Tax woes making you and your family sad? Well, jump into your jammies and let some jazzy beats make you glad! Join us April 7 at 6:30 p.m. for some swinging stories, recorded jazzy jams, dandy dances as well as vintage video clips with jazz themes. This program is appropriate for ages 3 to 7. Wearing comfortable pajamas to storytime is optional, but encouraged. Groups of 9 or more, please call 202-645-8337 to register in advance.
