Come create your own stocking this year to take home and place on your mantel.  Use different types of fabric and tools to make your own creative stocking.    Let’s have fun! Between Dec. 16 and Dec. 19 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., we will show you how to make your own unique stocking. You will have lots of fun meeting new friends putting your own style on your own unique stocking.   Great for ages 11-19.

"How did an author’s work change your view of the world and yourself?”  Participate in this year’s Letters About Literature writing competition to answer that question. Students, grades 4 – 12, write a letter to an author of a work that left a lasting impression to explain how their views were changed by the work.

I had already shelved my books and was busy helping customers. It was just another regular day. But, I noticed something. A lot of the customers who I had engaged with did NOT own a library card. How could this be? Then I remember saying, “100 by Summer.” This was in March.

Library to Upgrade Catalog

The DC Public Library is upgrading its catalog system in the early morning of Wednesday, March 23, beginning at 2 a.m.  During the upgrade, users will not be able to search the catalog, access their library accounts, place holds on library materials, or register for a library card.
