House History Workshop

This monthly hands-on workshop will teach people how to research the history of their D.C. house using primary sources in Washingtoniana. Researchers will learn to use building permits, historic maps, city directories, newspapers and other resources to find out about the building and the people associated with it. This workshop will last two hours.

Special Collections staff will lead a workshop on preserving digital and physical personal archives, including photos, letters, newspapers and other material objects. Participants will receive information that will help them maintain their family records.
