Thanks to everyone who participated in our first ever bookmark contest during National Library Week (April 11 - 19). We got so many amazing entries! You made it extremely tough for us to decide. Each first place winner from the teen and children's division won a $25 dollar gift card to Amazon.com - generously donated by the Friends of the Woodridge Library.Our first place winner in the children's division was Hayden W. and Sarah B. took home the prize for the teen's division.
May is Older Americans Month. Since 1963, our nation has designated this month as a time to celebrate the many contributions of older Americans and to focus attention on staying healthy and active.From 1963 until 1973, May was referred to as Senior Citizens Month. In May 1974, President Jimmy Carter changed the name to Older Americans Month.
