Mini Maker

Maker Month is here from July 5 to July 30!   On July 15th and Friday, July 29th from 10:30 to 11:00 a.m. join us as we do workshops on the themes for those two weeks, which are Fantasy and Engineering & Electronics.  Children ages 3 to 7 with an adult are invited to come join the fun. Makers come in all shapes, sizes and ages. A little too young for Petworth's Maker Camp? Come to our Mini Makers' Crafternoon sessions!Children ages 3 to 6 will explore one of our Maker themes, such as "Fantasy," or "Fun and Games," or "Engineering" using a story and/or a video demo as inspiration for their special creations.All materials will be supplied, but feel free to contribute your own small toys and odds-and-ends from around the house. Parental consent needed for photography/video recording.

This year's program will introduce students to Oceanography through fun activities to help them learn about the oceans and the plants and animals that live there. Take a look at real life ‘aliens’ here on Earth - small and nearly invincible microbes!  Create two of your very own aliens - one based on our imaginations and one on everything you just learned!
