Pre-Registration Prizes (June 1 - 12)
Pre-registration for Discover Summer starts on June 1 and runs through June 12. Sign up early to get some extra special prizes!
- Start summer sweet with a bookmark that you can show at any Wendy's location to receive a free Jr. Frosty!
- DC Public Library is excited to partner with Awesome Con (Awesome Con runs from Friday, June 16 - Sunday, June 18 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center) for Discover Summer pre-registration! From June 1 - June 12, when you pre-register for Discover Summer you will:
- Receive a FREE Jr. Badge to attend Awesome Con using the promo code DCPLKIDS23.
- You will also be entered into a raffle for a pack of 3 tickets to AwesomeCon. Winners will be contacted by email.
Registration Prizes (Starting June 28)
Get excited for a summer of reading and learning with the library! Stop by your neighborhood library to snag registration prizes for all ages while supplies last.
- Kids Ages 0-5 | Mini stuffed animals to keep you company while you read!
- Kids Ages 6-12 | Sun squishes to squeeze, toss and play with.
- Teens Ages 13-19 | Bluetooth Headphones to stream your favorite artist on Freegal.
- Adults | A Sports shaker bottle to keep you hydrated in the D.C. heat
Completion Prizes (Starting in August)
Congratulations on completing Discover Summer! Visit your neighborhood library and show them your completed gameboard or your completion badge in Beanstack to get a new bag (while supplies last) that will allow you to tote everything you check out from the library with ease!
- Children Ages 0-12 | Crossbody canvas bag in assorted colors.
- Teens Ages 13-19 | Backpacks in assorted colors
- Adults | Clear Tote Bags (perfect for games or concerts!) in assorted colors.
Grand Prizes
In addition to your completion prize, when you successfully complete Discover Summer you will also be entered into a raffle for exclusive experiences. If you win, you will be contacted via email with more details about how to redeem your prize.
- Children Ages 0-5 | Take Home play kits from Love Every or Kiwi Co.
- Children Ages 6-12 | Immerse yourself in the experience of being a spy with a bundle of three tickets to the International Spy Museum!
- Teens Ages 13 - 19 | Visit the most Instagrammable museum in town, Artechouse with a pack of three tickets that you can use to see any upcoming installation.
- Adults | Enjoy a sunset sightseeing cruise or a 2.5-hour ride along the Potomac while you enjoy brunch, lunch or dinner with a $100 gift card to City Cruises.
Partner Prizes
DC Public Library is excited to invite you to cheer on our local teams, The Washington Nationals and DC United with free tickets to upcoming games!
- Earn vouchers to a Washington Nationals game of your choice from July 3 to Sept. 6. To get your voucher, simply stop by your neighborhood library and show your gameboard or your Beanstack.
- In early August, all Discover Summer participants will be able to win tickets to DC United games. If you win tickets you will be notified via email.
