In collaboration with DC Department of Human Resources, join us for a live virtual session focused on writing effective resumes and interviewing skills. This online course will help participants to construct a resume that makes an effect and dynamic first impression. This course will also assist participants in understanding how to avoid common interview errors, learn how to answer typical interview questions and how to formulate thoughtful interview questions.

More Than Words: Veteran's Writing Circle

More Than Words: Veteran's Writing Circle is a new memoir-writing group for all former military personnel. Sessions will be hosted by library staff, featuring local author and Veteran, Nick Mann. Come ready to reflect, question and write. Writing exercises will be provided. Sessions will be held monthly on the 3rd Friday of every month at noon. At this time, all sessions will occur online. Join us virtually on Saturdays at 10 a.m. for the Tenley-Friendship Branch ESL Conversation Circle. The hour-and-a-half sessions are for non-native speakers of English ages 18 and older.

Foundations for a Successful Business

Join us for our monthly business workshops with the DC Small Business Development Center at Howard University. This newly developed interactive 90-minute webinar is the first step in assisting the participants in understanding the processes involved in developing a viable and comprehensive business plan. This webinar will establish the foundation for a successful business. Module 1 will aid the attendees in developing the business concept and determining its feasibility.
