The Design & Construction Industry Day hosted by the DC Public Library at Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library on Tuesday, May 9 was well attended by professionals from the Real Estate, Design, & Construction industry. 

Attendees got to network, and take a brief QR code survey before hearing from the Library team. Library's Director of Capital Planning & Construction, Jaspreet Pahwa shared highlights from the Library’s Built Environment journey, metrics for design & construction excellence and the roadmap of Libraries funded in the CIP 2023-2029, and a deeper dive into the real estate needs for new libraries in Eckington/ Edgewood and Rosedale neighborhoods. Library's Chief Business Officer, Barbara DeLaine Jumper offered welcoming comments to the attendees and along with Library's Chief Procurement Officer, reiterated Library's commitment to DSLBD certified businesses. The Capital Project Team provided scope highlights of upcoming solicitations and the Facilities Director enumerated operations and maintenance needs for the next fiscal year. The attendees engaged in a robust Q&A session, and went on to explore the Library after the event.
