The Adult Learning Department at DC Public Library offers a wide variety of digital certifications to help those advancing their education or learning a new resume builder develop the skill sets they may need. Take a look at the courses we offer below!

Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) Certification

If you need to get Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) Certified, the Adult Learning Department of the DC Public Library is offering free 2019 Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) Certification Exams in Microsoft Word Associate, Word Expert, Excel Associate, Excel Expert, PowerPoint Associate, Access Expert, and Outlook Associate. The MOS Exams are administered remotely on the Certiport Exams from Home platform. Registration is required for all MOS Exam sessions.

To prepare for the official MOS Exam, request a free GMetrix LearnKey account, consisting of Microsoft application courseware and practice tests. Email your request for a free GMetrix LearnKey account to customer.training@gmail.com.

This certification opportunity assumes that you have had coursework or at least three to six months of experience working with the Microsoft application software of choice.



Registration is required. You must register three weekdays before the test date. Maximum number of test-takers: 10

 

After you register:

  • You will receive an initial confirmation email, acknowledging your registration. 
  • The confirmation email will be followed by an instructional email, detailing your computer specifications and Internet speed as well as what you can expect in Certiport’s Exams from Home virtual testing environment.
  • The day before your scheduled MOS Exam, you will receive a link to engage Certiport’s Virtual Machines to take your Exam.

If you need to get Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) Certified, the DC Public Library is pleased to offer Certiport’s Exams from Home Service FREE and you don’t have to leave home to get it!

Microsoft Imagine Academy Virtual Instructional Program (MIAVIP)

Prepare for your 2019 Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) Certification Exams by enrolling in one of the following six-week sessions of virtual Microsoft application classes: Word Associate, Word Expert, Excel Associate, PowerPoint Associate, and Outlook Associate.

Virtual classes are conducted on the Zoom Videoconferencing platform. Registration and attendance at a virtual Orientation session are required.

Google Partnership (Grow with Google Series)

As a Grow with Google Partner, the Adult Learning Department of the DC Public Library presents eight-week sessions of Google Suite, including Google Drive, Google Docs, Google Slides, and Google Sheets. Registration, attendance at an Orientation session, and a skills assessment are required.
