Hey kids and parents! Do you need something to read over the winter break? DC Public Library has great links to help you find super books! You can explore BookFlix which pairs picture books and nonfiction books that have similar themes. Children can read the books, and listen to them as well! Click here to try it.

November is here and there are some very special books on display in the Petworth Interim Library Children's Room. November is Native American Heritage month, so we are featuring biographies, folk tales and books on Native American cultures. All titles are available for checkout. Also, please come to the library to meet me! My name is Bridgid Mangan, and I'm the new children's librarian. I look forward to seeing you soon!
We are sad to see our children's librarian, Miss Amy, leave for a different opportunity doing library work with "big kids." Amy was our fabulous children's librarian for two years and we already miss her! We wish her the best in her endeavor working for an educational foundation in the District of Columbia.
Hispanic Heritage Month has been celebrated September 15 through October 15 since 1988. At the Petworth Interim Library, we have a related display of many different materials, for all ages, next to our new nonfiction. They are for, about and by Hispanics and their contributions to life in the United States of America. We are fortunate to have materials in Spanish at Petworth as well, for your reading pleasure.
