Mural to Be Painted in Library Lobby

Shepherd Park is looking for a young artists ages 5-19 to submit designs for a mural to be painted on the wall of the lobby.  -Designs can be any size, on any type of paper-Designs can be in black and white or color-The theme of the mural is "library and community"-Artwork must be submitted by May 31st, 2010-Please submit all artwork in the children's room

Shepherd Park Welcomes Peace Thru Culture

Come experience the art, dance, and food of the Americas.  For all ages, 1-3 p.m. on Saturday, April 10.  Peace Thru Culture has partnerships with the D.C. Public Schools, Boys and Girls Club of Greater Washington and the Peace Corps. Find more information on Peace Thru Culture's work.

Beginning Sewing Class

Call for Participants

We have been trying to get a young people's sewing group going,  with some interest.  In an effort to create a more organized class, we are requesting those with interest please contact Anina at 541-5917.  You can also email hre at anina.ertel@dc.gov.  Please include your name, contact information, and age of child.  The classes will be held Monday or Wednesday evenings, so indicate if you have a preference.

Arts and Crafts: Spring Is Near!

On Wednesday, April 7th at 4:30 pm, we will be dying Easter eggs for our arts and crafts activity.  All ages arts and crafts is every first Wednesday of the month at 4:30 pm in the activity room.

Yoga for Kids and Teens

Wednesday at 4:30 p.m.

Tomorrow is the first Wednesday of the month, when we usually have all ages crafts at 4:30 pm. However, tomorrow on January 6th,  Kati Nolfi of the Martin Luther King Jr. Library will be teaching a class on basic Yoga for all ages.  We will have arts and crafts for all ages on Wednesday, January 13th at 4:30 pm. 

Holiday Movie Screening

Wednesday December 23 at 4:30 p.m.
